DMB returns to WPB

What would you say if you found out the Dave Matthews Band had played here — and you’d missed it?

Perish the thought. Show up for the jam band’s shows at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday at Coral Sky Amphitheatre. Lawn tickets start at $81, and actual seats start at $130.

The concert venue is at 601 Sansburys Way in West Palm Beach and can be reached at 561-795-8883.

Subculture serves grub and grooves

Late last month, hundreds of hungry revelers gathered in downtown West Palm Beach for the first Tacos and Hip Hop event at Subculture Coffee.

What organizers are calling “Volume 2” will break out at 8 p.m. Friday.

“Let’s do what neighborhoods don’t seem to do anymore; gather in the streets, mingle and dance until you can’t anymore!” reads the event invite on Subculture’s Facebook page. “Time to forget the busyness and just be for a bit. Sound good???”

Sounds good, as do the promise of beer and sangria stations to wash those tacos down with.

Subculture is at 509 Clematis St. and can be reached at (561) 318-5142.

The Science Center spaces out

Kids are invited to the South Florida Science Center on Friday night to make Galaxy Goo, Extraterrestrial Eggs and alien masks.

Yes, it’s another “Night at the Museum,” when the center stays open late to introduces kids to science through crafts, activities, entertainment, exhibits and planetarium shows.

The invasion takes place from 6 to 8 p.m. Admission is $12 for adults, $10 for seniors, $8 for children (3-12) and $6 for members.

The museum is at 4801 Dreher Trail North in West Palm Beach and can be reached at (561) 832-1988.

Artists battle it out in Northwood Village

During this month’s Art & Wine Promenade in Northwood Village, five local artists will paint live — and compete for votes.

And it could pay to cast your ballot during Art Battle July: Your vote enters you to win a gift certificate to the shops in this funky neighborhood north of downtown West Palm Beach.

The Promenade takes place from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday.

The center of Northwood Village is at 400 Northwood Road.

Bubbles float across CityPlace

Not to burst your bubble, but this weekend is your last chance to enjoy the cheap thrills of CityPlace’s BubbleFest.

The free event, which consists of thousands of bubbles floating over CityPlace plaza and kids going predictably nuts, takes place at 6, 7 and 8 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Take a great BubbleFest photo, tag CityPlace and use #BubbleFest on your social media posts, and get a chance to win a $250 gift card to, where else, CityPlace. Hope floats.

CityPlace is 700 S. Rosemary Ave. in West Palm Beach and can be reached at (561) 820-0074.
